FAQs
Yes — we are one of the few heritage operators who offer late-night returns. Additional T&Cs apply, which we’ll discuss with you.
Yes — we can travel to places such as Bath, Bristol, Bournemouth, the South Coast, the Cotswolds and central London. Longer distances may cost more, as our heritage buses travel at a gentler pace.
We regularly serve Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire and Surrey, and we’re happy to travel further afield on request.
We always try to survey routes in advance, although this isn’t guaranteed. Our drivers have excellent local knowledge and are trained to assess routes for low bridges, narrow lanes and overhanging branches. If you think your route may be tricky, please let us know.
Yes — our fleet operates throughout the year.
We provide white ribbon and a floral bouquet for the front of the vehicle. If you have special requests, just give us a call.
Yes — we can create a bespoke destination blind for the front of the bus. Unlike thin paper versions used elsewhere, ours are professionally printed on durable plastic paper and make a wonderful keepsake. Cost: £50 + VAT.
We have very limited storage — space for one wheelchair or up to two, fold-down buggies without reducing seating. If you need more space, we can accommodate this by using passenger seats. Please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.
No. Pushchairs, prams and wheelchairs cannot be used as seats on board, and aisles must always remain clear.
Unfortunately, not. These heritage vehicles were built long before accessibility standards existed, and their design cannot be modified. Passengers must be able to board and alight independently.

Yes — our 1961 open-top bus Sir Martin Frobisher is one of only nine ever built for Devon General. They were affectionately known as the “Sea Dog Class,” each named after a famous seafarer.
Absolutely. We have three buses in our own fleet and work closely with trusted partners who maintain their vehicles to the same high standard. If you need multiple buses, we can arrange that.
Yes — and they’re the pride of our fleet. Beautifully restored, they feature the authentic look and feel of the 1960s London Transport era.
Our Routemasters are painted in traditional London Transport Red. Our Devon General open-top bus is in its original cream with a red band. You can see them all in the Our Buses section of our website.
Our Routemaster buses seat 64 or 57 passengers, and our white open-top bus seats 72. Every passenger must have a seat by law. If your group is larger than the seating capacity, we can arrange an additional vintage bus or run a second trip.
