After what feels like a long cold winter, we are now looking forward to Royal Ascot this year in our classic open top bus.

We are arranging a trip to Royal Ascot on Tuesday 20th June 2023, travelling there and back on our historic classic bus.

The bus will pick up passengers from Woodley, Wokingham (and possibly central Reading) at approximately 9.30am/10am (TBC) and will leave Ascot at approx. ½ an hour after the last race. You can relax on the bus whilst we meander our way to Ascot and let the bus driver take the strain of the traffic and parking. You will be greeted with a glass of bubbly and the party will start as soon as you board!

The price of the day includes transportation to and from Royal Ascot on our heritage bus, a couple of glasses of bubbly on the way out, courtesy of Berkshire’s Big Red Bus Company. However this does not include entry to the Royal Ascot enclosures, please see below for further details on entry.

This year, we plan to take our Open top classic double decker bus again, plus we have paid extra and will be parking at coach park 8C which is located inside the race course itself (please see the attached map showing coach park 8C). This means if we get there in good time, we should get a great view of the course from the bus and the races, as this coach park is right up against the race course itself along the final straight, so hopefully with our open top bus we will have our own grandstand.

No matter which enclosure you purchase your tickets for, there you will only be a 3 to 4 minute walk to these areas, due the fantastic location we have secured. (Ticket options)

Historically we have gone to the Heathfield enclosure, which is situated right next to coach park 8C so about a 30 second walk. This enclosure has a far more relaxed atmosphere and only cost £10 for entry in 2022 (this year’s cost TBA), which is paid on the door, cash to the officials, so you pay on the day for entry. This enclosure is far more relaxed and more basic. It has the basics of toilets/bars & bookmakers but not a lot else. You are allowed to bring in your own picnics.

It will be a great fun day out for all, a good chance to get dressed up and treat yourself, which I believe we all deserve after the last few years.

You’ll be pleased to know there’s no formal dress code for the Heathfiield enclosure, it is the same as the Windsor enclosure for dress code, although racegoers are encouraged to wear smart clothes. Please also note that fancy dress, novelty, and branded or promotional clothing is not allowed, and bare chests are not permitted at any time (see their website).

You have the option of taking a picnic if you want to, but, please check the website for the picnic policy (which also includes the alcohol policy). Folded picnic chairs and blankets are permitted in the Heathfield Enclosure and so are picnics in picnic hampers or cool box/bags. If you want to eat your picnic within the Heathfield enclosure then you have to take your picnic in with you at the time of entry as food/drink is not permitted to be taken back in on re-entry. However, if you don’t want the hassle of carrying your picnic around with you then you are more than welcome to leave it on the bus. This would, however, mean that you would have to either eat it on board in the coach park or you would be allowed to place your picnic blanket on the ground outside the bus and eat there. We will be taking a small gazebo to put up by the bus so that you can relax in the shade if you wish.

The cost for this entire package is £50/person (discount available for bookings of 6 or more).

If you are interested please contact us ASAP please, letting me know your numbers.
