Isabella – RM188
Routemaster RM188 is a standard-bodied Routemaster. It was manufactured in 1960 and first entered service at West Ham bus garage in February of that year. It remained with London Transport, working at a number of different London bus garages, before being withdrawn from LT service in July 1987.
It was then sold to a bus company called Citilink in Hull, who operated it in passenger service for two-years. In 1989 it was sold to Kingston-Upon-Hull City Transport, and was sold again later that year to East Yorkshire Motor Services, who operated it in passenger service until July 2005. It was sold again and passed through a number of owners over the following years until it was purchased by the current owner in August 2011.
Over the past four-years RM188 has undergone major refurbishment work. It has many original features that those who travelled on London’s buses during the 1960s and 1970s will remember
